Keith was out walking his dog (so cute! her name is Frida Kahlo!). He saw my camera and asked me if I was getting good shots. He likes Nikon, and even had one converted to infra-red, which he says produces really cool images. We had a nice, friendly chat about photography. I gave him my card, and I hope we stay in touch!
At first I just stopped to take a photo of Gary, because . . . guy on roof! Then I realized, after chatting with him for a moment, that I could lure him into my 100 Strangers project! He was repairing a leak in this church building, where he is the property manager and a congregant! Besides this building, there is a beautiful old stone church next door. Gary and I chatted about the springlike day we were having in early February, and he was grateful--just a few days earlier, he would have been up on that roof in 20-degree weather!
Gordon goes to college in Washington, DC, where he majors in political science. We had both stopped at this scenic outlook in western Maryland, and we were both headed to the same town, Frederick. Gordon had never been there before, so I told him what a treat he was in for: nice restaurants, a delightful indie bookstore, and fun shops of all kinds. Nice to meet you, Gordon!
